AMC recently shared a batch of stills for its upcoming small-screen adaptation of Interview with the Vampire, and the network has now followed-up with a first look at some footage via a brief teaser trailer.
The promo really doesn't reveal much, but we do get a shot of Louis de Pointe du Lac's (Game of Thrones' Jacob Anderson) decadent New Orleans home, as well as a pair of coffins belonging to the plantation brothel owner and his mentor/tormentor Lestat de Lioncourt (Sam Reid).
Check out the teaser below, along with the official logo.
This take on the story will make a few changes to the late Anne Rice's book, with Louis depicted as a former brothel owner looking for the chance to tell his "true tale." The interviewer, Daniel Malloy, will also have an expanded role. We still don't know very much about Reid's Lestat, but it's assumed the ruthless vampire will enter Louis' life much the same way here: forcefully.
The trailer reveals that the eight-episode first season will premiere this Fall, but no official premiere date has been announced. Rolin Jones is on board as writer, executive producer, and showrunner, while Mark Johnson will executive produce along with Christopher Rice. Alan Taylor will direct the first two episodes.
Neil Jordan helmed the 1994 feature adaptation of Interview With The Vampire, which starred Brad Pitt as Louis, Tom Cruise as Lestat, and Christian Slater as Malloy.
