With just under a month to go, Prime Video has released the official full-length trailer for Carrie, an upcoming eight-episode original series from Mike Flanagan (The Fall of the House of Usher; Midnight Mass; The Haunting of Hill House) that promises a bold reimagining of Stephen King's haunting and heartbreaking tale.
The official synopsis describes the series as "a revealing glimpse at how the series expands the world, bringing new depth and complexity to its beloved characters while exploring the forces that shape Carrie White (Summer H. Howell) as she navigates the cruelty and pressure of the modern world — building toward a single, shattering night. But how much do we really know about Carrie — or what happened in Chamberlain?"
The series is based on King's iconic 1974 debut novel, which was previously adapted into three feature films: Carrie (1976), starring Sissy Spacek and John Travolta; The Rage: Carrie 2 (1999), starring Emily Bergl; and Carrie (2013), starring Chloë Grace Moretz, Judy Greer, and Julianne Moore. It was also adapted into a 2002 made-for-TV movie starring Angela Bettis and Patricia Clarkson.
The upcoming series stars Summer H. Howell in the lead role, with a supporting cast consisting of Samantha Sloyan (The Pitt) as Margaret White, Siena Agudong (Resident Evil) as Sue Snell, Alison Thornton (Fire Country) as Chris Hargensen, Joel Oulette (My Life with the Walter Boys) as Tommy Ross, Josie Totah (The Buccaneers) as Tina, Arthur Conti (Beetlejuice Beetlejuice) as Billy, Thalia Dudek (The Running Man) as Emaline, Amber Midthunder (Prey) as Miss Desjardin, and Matthew Lillard (Man of Tomorrow) as Principal Grayle.
Recurring guest stars include Michael Trucco (Fire Country), Crystal Balint (The Fall of the House of Usher), Kate Siegel (The Haunting of Hill House), Rahul Kohli (We Were Liars), Tim Bagley (The Comeback), and Heather Graham (The White Lotus).
Flanagan helmed episodes one, two, seven, and eight, while Kate Siegel directed episodes three, four, five and six. Stephen King is attached as an executive producer.
Carrie starts streaming, exclusively on Prime Video, on October 7!

Flanagan directed Episodes 101, 102, 107 and 108, while Episodes 103, 104, 105 and 106 are directed by Kate Siegel (The Exorcist: Martyrs), Axelle Carolyn (Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen), Kyra Sedgwick (Family Movie) and Hiromi Kamata (Shogun), respectively.
