AMC Networks shared a brief snippet of footage from Interview with The Vampire during Super Bowl LVI Sunday back in February, but we now have a much better look at the upcoming small-screen adaptation of the late Anne Rice's classic novel thanks to some official promo stills.

The images spotlight Louis de Pointe du Lac (Game of Thrones' Jacob Anderson) and his mentor/tormentor Lestat de Lioncourt (Sam Reid) as they take a stroll through the streets of New Orleans.

This take on the story will make a few changes to Rice's book, with Louis depicted as a former brothel owner looking for the chance to tell his "true tale." The interviewer, Daniel Malloy, will also have an expanded role. We still don't know very much about Reid's Lestat, but it's assumed the ruthless vampire will enter Louis' life much the same way here: forcefully.

The eight-episode first season will premiere later this year, but no official premiere date has been announced. Rolin Jones is on board as writer, executive producer, and showrunner, while Mark Johnson will executive produce along with Christopher Rice. Alan Taylor will direct the first two episodes.

Neil Jordan helmed the 1994 feature adaptation of Interview With The Vampire, which starred Brad Pitt as Louis, Tom Cruise as Lestat, and Christian Slater as Malloy.

Photos look good! I hope they get up to Queen of the Damned and redeem it. The film version was a bit wanting.
