Tarot is now in theaters, and the embargo lifted the day of the movie's release. Not usually a great sign, and sure enough, reviews have been pretty dire so far.

With 25 verdicts counted, Tarot currently sits at an abysmal 12% on Rotten Tomatoes.

The movie focuses on a group of friends who "unwittingly unleash an unspeakable evil trapped within a cursed deck of tarot cards. One by one, they come face to face with fate, racing against death to escape the future foretold in their readings."

Pretty much every aspect of the film has come in for some criticism, but it does have a few defenders who praise the creature designs and a couple of effective scares. Overall, though, it sounds like Tarot is simply too unoriginal to rise above its failings.

Have a read through some reactions below, and let us know if you plan on giving Tarot a go despite the critical reception.

Shame, I liked some of the creature designs in this movie.
