Art the Clown is about to step into The Fog. Behaviour Interactive has shared a new look at the Terrifier killer in Dead by Daylight, and the horror icon will be playable for the first time when the game's Public Test Build opens on October 27.
The latest teaser, posted over the weekend, shows Art grinning in his black and white costume while holding a blood-soaked club covered in nails. The caption is exactly the kind of joke Art himself would enjoy.
Two Teasers, Two Weapons
This is the second time Behaviour has teased Art ahead of the test build. Last week, the official Dead by Daylight account posted an image of the clown pointing a lit blowtorch at the camera with the line "He's burning to meet you." Both teasers carry the same PTB date and the Terrifier branding from creator Damien Leone.
Anyone who has seen the films knows that Art never settles on a single weapon. Over three movies, he has used a hacksaw, knives and just about anything else within arm's reach, so a killer kit built around improvised tools would fit right in. Behaviour has not revealed his power or perks yet, though, so fans will have to wait for the PTB to see what the developer has built for him.
The crossover itself was first announced over the summer during the game's 10th anniversary celebrations, with a simple message from the official account.
November 2026 is still the only official release window for the full chapter. Behaviour has not shared a specific launch date, so any exact days floating around online should be treated with caution until the studio confirms them.
A Modern Slasher Joins The Classics
Art has become one of the biggest horror villains of the past decade. The character first appeared in Leone's short films before headlining the original Terrifier in 2016, and he broke out in a big way with Terrifier 2 and Terrifier 3, which turned the low-budget franchise into a genuine box office success. David Howard Thornton plays Art in the films, though Behaviour has not said whether he is involved with the game.
Art joins a roster that already includes legends like Michael Myers, Freddy Krueger, Ghostface and Pinhead, along with Chucky. That last one is about to change. Late last week, Behaviour announced that the Chucky Chapter will be removed from in-game and first-party stores on November 24, 2026, nearly three years after the Good Guy first arrived in The Fog. Players who already own the Chapter keep access to it, so anyone who wants to pick it up has a few weeks left.
It has been a busy Halloween season for Dead by Daylight overall. The game also recently welcomed Lilith, Mephisto and Belial from Diablo as new outfits, giving The Artist, The Nurse and The Dredge demonic new looks.
How To Try Art Early
The Public Test Build is Dead by Daylight's preview branch on Steam, so only PC players will be able to try Art when it opens. The PTB gives Behaviour a chance to collect feedback and adjust balance before new content reaches every platform, which means Art's power and perks could still change before the chapter officially launches in November. PTB progress does not carry over to the live game, so treat it as a sneak peek. Once Art is playable, it should not take long for players to figure out exactly how Behaviour has translated his sadistic sense of humor into a killer power.
Are you excited to play as Art the Clown, and which Terrifier kill do you hope Behaviour recreates in his Mori?
