Dread Central, the horror website turned indie horror film distributor, is back with another direct-to-video offering. Dread found its first big success with the clown horror film, Terrifier.

Its latest flick is titled Island Escape and sees a team of disposable mercenaries tasked with rescuing a CEO's daughter from a research facility on a remote island.

The only problem is that it seems whatever research was being conducted has gone terribly wrong.

The island has become stuck in a time loop that resets every three days, and to make matters worse, the mercenaries are routinely being attacked by zombified versions of themselves.

Dread describes the film as equal parts Annihilation and Day of the Dead.

The film was written and directed by Bruce Wemple and stars Chris Cimperman, Grant Schumacher, and James Liddell.

Wemple has previously written and directed a number of Dread titles including First Contact, Altered Hours, and The Tomorrow Job.

Island Escape will be available On Demand on August 8 and on Blu-ray on September 12.

ISLAND ESCAPE OFFICIAL SYNOPSIS: After a mysterious accident at a research camp on the Isle of Gran Manan, a CEO hires a team of blue-collar mercenaries to extract his daughter, a scientist working at the camp.

Upon arrival, the team soon learns that not only is the island surrounded by a wormhole that causes time to reset every three days, but it’s also crawling with hideous and dangerous monsters.

As they learn more about the nature of time, space and the creatures on the island, they quickly realize that death may be the easiest way to escape.
