The Munsters director Rob Zombie has announced that Dee Wallace, who he previously worked with on Halloween, Lords of Salem, and 3 from Hell, has joined the cast of his upcoming reboot.
“Dee is the voice of GOOD MORNING TRANSYLVANIA!," the filmmaker captioned his Instagram post. "Transylvania’s 2nd favorite morning show… soon slipping to 3rd if they don’t update their format.”
Wallace will be best known to many for playing Elliot's mother in E.T., but following her appearance in Wes Craven's The Hills Have Eyes, she went on to become something of a horror icon thanks to memorable roles in werewolf classic The Howling, Cujo, Critters, The Frighteners, and more.
She joins Jeff Daniel Phillips as Herman Munster, Sheri Moon Zombie as Lily Munster, and Daniel Roebuck as Grandpa Munster.
We recently learned that The Munsters had earned a Parental Guidance rating for "Macabre and suggestive material, scary images and language."
The supporting cast includes Richard Brake as Dr. Henry Augustus Wolfgang, Catherine Schell as Zoya Krupp the gypsy queen, Cassandra "Elvira" Peterson as Barbara Carr, and Jorge as a new character named Floop, who is described as “Dr. Wolfgang’s hunchback assistant and Herman Munster’s best buddy.”
The movie will be released by Universal Home Entertainment, and there's a lot of speculation that it'll be a Peacock exclusive. This has yet to be confirmed, but all episodes of the classic '60s series are currently available to watch on the streaming service.
