Yet another short story from Stephen King's Night Shift anthology is making its way to the screen, with a feature adaptation of The Boogeyman in the works from 20th Century Studios. The project is being developed for the Hulu streaming service, and the studio has now announced that production is officially underway.

Joining Yellowjackets breakout Sophie Thatcher and Chris Messina (I Care A Lot, Birds of Prey) will be The Suicide Squad star David Dastmalchian, Marin Ireland (Y: The Last Man, The Umbrella Academy), Vivien Lyra Blair (Bird Box, Mr. Corman) and Madison Hu (Voyagers).

There's no word on any of their roles.

Rob Savage (Host) will direct, with 21 Laps’ Shawn Levy, Dan Levine and Dan Cohen producing. Mark Heyman is writing the script, which is based on an original draft by Scott Beck, Bryan Woods and Akela Cooper.

The original story focused on a man who visits a psychiatrist after coming to believe that his children were murdered by an evil entity known as the Boogeyman, but it sounds like this version is going to take things in a very different direction.
