Ti West has been a very busy man!

The prequel to recent horror hit X, Pearl, is set to hit theaters this Friday, and we now have word that A24 has officially green-lit a sequel. In fact, a teaser trailer for MaXXXine is already online!

The follow-up to X will bring us up to speed with sole survivor Max (Mia Goth) as she "continues her journey towards fame setting out to make it as an actress in 1980’s Los Angeles."

In X, goth played both Maxine and an older take on Pearl, who'll be the focus of the upcoming prequel.

West had the following to say about MaXXXine after Pearl's Toronto International Film Festival screening.

“What I can tell you is that we’re going to catch up with Maxine. And we’re going to find out what she’s up to. The way that X is a movie that is informed by and affected by independent exploitation auteur Americana and 1970s cinema, and Pearl is perhaps affected by the Golden Age of Hollywood and the glitz and glamor of cinema, MaXXXine will be more about within the industry itself and the boom of VHS.”

MaXXXine doesn't have a release date yet, but you can check out the teaser trailer below.
