The first trailer for IFC Midnight's new indie horror Barbarians is now online, and this one looks to be a blackly funny gore-fest in the same vein as recent Norwegian comedy thriller The Trip.

The movie stars Game of Thrones alum Iwan Rheon and Catalina Sandino Moreno (Maria Full of Grace) as a couple who are elated after putting in an offer for their dream home. They invite some friends over to celebrate, but things take a dark turn when property developer Lucas (Tom Culle) reveals that they're not quite as close to securing the house as they thought.

The situation gets much worse when three murderous masked strangers turn up, and Adam and Eva (really?) are forced to take extreme measures to stay alive.

This seems like pretty standard home invasion fair, to be honest, but it's a decent teaser and there might be a few twists in the tale. Check out the trailer below and let us know what you think.

Set over the course of twenty-four hours, BARBARIANS sees couple Adam (Rheon) and Eva (Moreno) wake up in their supposed dream house on Adam’s birthday. Lucas (Cullen), property developer and friend of the couple, arrives for dinner with his actress girlfriend Chloe (Spiridonov) to celebrate Adam’s birthday and the couple’s buying of the house. But secrets unravel over dinner, and when the doorbell rings the evening takes a nightmarish turn. As manners give way to madness, an ‘idyllic’ evening of celebration descends into a dark night of terror; and the group’s civilized dinner party turns out to be anything but.

Barbarians opens in theaters and On Demand on April 1
