Angus Cloud rose to fame on HBO's Euphoria as the local drug dealer Fezco and seemed to have a bright and promising career ahead of him. Sadly, Cloud reportedly overdosed on Monday at the young age of 25, after battling severe depression due to the recent death of his father. His father passed away the week prior, and his family had just returned from his funeral in Ireland.
His family released the following statement:
"Last week he buried his father and intensely struggled with this loss. The only comfort we have is knowing Angus is now reunited with his dad, who was his best friend. Angus was open about his battle with mental health and we hope that his passing can be a reminder to others that they are not alone and should not fight this on their own in silence."
The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that Cloud wrapped filming on two upcoming horror films.
The first is an Untitled Universal Monsters Film from directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett. In addition to Angus, the film also stars Melissa Barrera, Alisha Weir, Dan Stevens, Kevin Durand, Kathryn Newton, Angus Cloud, Will Catlett, and Giancarlo Esposito. Plot details are unknown at this time but the film was previously titled Dracula's Daughter. The film is currently set to be released on April 19, 2024.
The second posthumous film from Cloud is a horror thriller titled Your Lucky Day from writer/director Dan Brown. The film is reportedly set on Christmas Eve and deals with a hostage situation at a small convenience store where someone is in possession of a winning lottery ticket worth $150 million dollars. The film is currently without a release date.
On Instagram, Cloud's Euphoria co-star Zendaya shared:
"Words are not enough to describe the infinite beauty that is Angus (Conor). I’m so grateful I got the chance to know him in this life, to call him a brother, to see his warm kind eyes and bright smile, or hear his infectious cackle of a laugh (I’m smiling now just thinking of it)."
"I know people use this expression often when talking about folks they love…'they could light up any room they entered' but boy let me tell you, he was the best at it. I’d like to remember him that way. For all of the boundless light, love and joy he always managed to give us. I’ll cherish every moment."
