John Krasinski will be back to write, produce, and direct another installment in the main A Quiet Place franchise, per Deadline.
Krasinski confirmed with Instagram that Part III will arrive in theaters on July 9, 2027.
The first 2018 film made $341 million worldwide from a production budget of only $17 million, while the sequel grossed $297.5 million worldwide from a production budget of $60 million in 2021.
The sequel famously had its premiere in March 2020 but had its release delayed by a year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
A spin-off/prequel, A Quiet Place: Day One, was released in theaters on June 26, 2024, written and directed by Michael Sarnoski. The prequel starred Lupita Nyong'o and Joseph Quinn.
However, it seems as if the next installment is set to return to the central storyline and pick up where Part II left off.
A Quiet Place Part II ended with a tense, two-front finale that highlights the bravery of both Abbott children: Regan and her brother Marcus.
On a distant island, Regan uses her ear implant to send out a piercing high-frequency signal through a radio station, weakening one of the alien creatures. Taking advantage of the moment, she finishes it off, protecting the island community.
At the same time, Marcus, still on the mainland, picks up the same signal on a radio. He uses the sound to stun another creature that’s threatening his family, then shoots it to save his mother.
This sequel ends with the siblings stepping into leadership roles and teases a possible plot for this third upcoming film as the family now knows how to fight back.
With the high-pitched broadcast acting as a weapon, they’ve found a way to level the playing field against the deadly creatures. The movie ends on a hopeful yet suspenseful note, opening the door for future stories in the Quiet Place universe.
Plot details and casting information for A Quiet Place Part III remain under wraps for now.
However, fans can stay tuned to FearHQ for all the latest updates as they emerge. With a release date set for July 9, 2027, production is expected to begin sometime in early 2026.
