The CW has debuted some new key art for upcoming Supernatural prequel series, The Winchesters, giving us another look at Meg Donnelly and Drake Rodger as Mary and John Winchester, the future parents of Sam and Dean.
The show was announced shortly before the final episode of Supernatural aired, and will reportedly focus on the "epic, untold love story of how John and Mary met and put it all on the line to not only save their love, but the entire world."
Donnelly is best known for starring in Disney Channel’s Zombies franchise, and has also appeared in American Housewife and High-School Musical. Her take on Mary is described as "a 19-year-old who’s been fighting the forces of darkness for most of her life. After losing someone close to her, she considers quitting the family business — until her father’s disappearance and the arrival of newcomer John Winchester forces her to lead a new team."
Rodger, meanwhile, can be seen in The In Between, Murder RX and the upcoming Quiet in My Town. John Winchester is said to be a "selfless and clear-headed" Vietnam vet who "finds a new mission back home, where traces of his father’s past lead him to a secret organization and a whole new war as a hunter."
Supernatural's Robbie Thompson is writing The Winchesters, and will also executive produce alongside Jensen Ackles, who will return to narrate the series as Dean.

"When John returns home from fighting in Vietnam, a mysterious encounter sparks a new mission to trace his father's past. In his journey, he crosses paths with 19-year-old demon hunter Mary, who is also searching for answers after the disappearance of her own father. Together, the two join forces with young hunter-in-training Latika (Nida Khurshid) and easygoing hunter Carlos (Jonathan "Jojo" Fleites) to uncover the hidden truths about both their families. Their investigation leads them to a rare book emporium, whose owner Ada (Demetria McKinney) takes an interest to the occult and could provide the missing pieces to their puzzle."
