During Friday's The Walking Dead San Diego Comic-Con panel, AMC made several updates regarding the various spin-off shows that are either currently airing or coming soon, and we got a first look at some footage (via ComicBookMovie.com) from the Rick and Michonne-focused series, which has now been given an official title.
The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live will reunite Michonne (Danai Gurira) with the man she believed long dead, Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln), and explore what exactly prevented Rick from seeking out his former lover for so many years.
The promo features narration from Michonne along with brief flashes of footage, but we still have hardly any idea of what to expect from the show's main plot.
AMC also announced that The Walking Dead: Dead City will be back for a second run, and The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, which premieres on September 10, has already been renewed for a second season.
Check out a teaser for The Ones Who Live, a full trailer and synopsis for Daryl Dixon, and a promo showcasing scenes from the final episodes of Dead City below.
“In The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, Daryl washes ashore in France and struggles to piece together how he got there and why. The series tracks his journey across a broken but resilient France as he hopes to find a way back home. As he makes the journey, though, the connections he forms along the way complicate his ultimate plan.”
Along with Norman Reedus, the series stars Clémence Poésy, Adam Nagaitis, Anne Charrier, Eriq Ebouaney, Laika Blanc Francard, Romain Levi, and Louis Puech Scigliuzzi. Gimple executive produces along with series showrunner David Zabel, Reedus, Greg Nicotero, Angela Kang, Bockrath, and Daniel Percival.
