STRANGER THINGS Reveals The Title Of Final Season's First Episode: "The Crawl"

Yesterday was Stranger Things Day, and the Duffer Brothers have taken to Twitter to reveal that the title of the final season's first episode will be "The Crawl." Does it tease Eddie's return?

To mark Stranger Things Day, The Duffer Brothers have taken to social media to share the title of the first episode of the upcoming fifth and final season via the Netflix show's official Twitter account.

Page one of the script reveals that season 5, chapter 1 will be known as: "The Crawl."

While this doesn't appear to give us much to go on, some fans are convinced that the title is teasing the return of the late Eddie Munson!

Right before his untimely demise, the heroic metal-head caused a distraction that allowed his friends to infiltrate Vecna's lair by laying down an epic "Master of Puppets" guitar solo. Could "The Crawl" be a reference to the song's lyrics, "Come crawling faster/come obey your master?" It's a bit of a stretch, to be sure, but certainly not outside the realm of possibility.

If - and it's a big if - Eddie is somehow resurrected, our guess is he'll be under Vecna's control.

When asked about the possibility of fans seeing Eddie again in a recent interview, producer Shawn Levy said: "A lot of people can't even handle the thought of a season 5 without some excuse for Eddie presence. Highly unlikely, highly unlikely. But we hear you, world, we know. You're obsessed with Eddie – so are we."

Production on the final season of Stranger Things is expected to begin early next year.
