Netflix debuted a full trailer for Resident Evil during Geeked Week, and it features some gnarly new footage from the streamer's live-action adaptation of the classic survival horror video games.

There's been quite a bit of scepticism around this series because it seems to be taking so many liberties with the overarching plot of the games, but this footage may go some way towards assuaging concerns. At the very least, there's a few monsters fans are sure to recognize!

The full cast of the show was revealed during last year's Geeked Week, with Lance Reddick (John Wick, The Wire, Godzilla Vs. Kong for about 2 seconds) set to play the villainous Albert Wesker, who was introduced in the very first game before going on to become one of the franchise primary antagonists. He'll be joined by Ella Balinska (Charlie's Angels), Tamara Smart (Artemis Fowl), Siena Agudong (No Good Nick), Adeline Rudolph (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina), and Paola Núñez (The Purge) in undisclosed roles.

Check out the trailer below along with a new poster.

The Netflix series will tell its new story across two timelines. In the first, 14-year-old sisters Jade and Billie Wesker are moved to New Raccoon City. A manufactured, corporate town, forced on them right as adolescence is in full swing. But the more time they spend there, the more they come to realize that the town is more than it seems and their father may be concealing dark secrets. Secrets that could destroy the world.
The second, more than a decade into the future sees less than 15 million people left on Earth. And more than 6 billion monsters — people and animals infected with the T-virus. Jade, now 30, struggles to survive in this new world, while the secrets from her past — about her sister, her father and herself — continue to haunt her.

That licker looks GREAT.

I'm not too certain about this. I'm more apprehensive after this trailer than I was the first. Still stoked to see it, especially since I JUST finished RE Village. But we'll see.

Just based off the trailer, which is NOT much for me to base it off of, I'd predict they're going to do some things REALLY well and some things are going to be done quite poorly.

Hopefully that's wrong and the entire thing kicks ass from start to finish.

Yeah I was surprised by how decent this looks.

You guys are joking, right? I’m stunned. How hard is it to make a faithful adaptation to the Resident Evil games? This looks like someone had an idea for a sci-fi/horror show and just so happened to have the rights to Resident Evil and so they labeled parts of their idea off of the original franchise.

as a massive fan of the RE franchise , lore and history i feel this actually looks ok, its still hard to get passed the changes with such a major character like wesker, and if thats him in the bacta tank type thing i hope they dont cop out and go oh he died but we brought him back in this body.

I like many others just want a accurate representation of the lore and story we all know and love, but what i will say is this looks better (Aside from some of the CGI movies) and miles better than we had with the whole alice saga and welcome to racoon city .

I am cautiously optimistic and i get why they change things but i hope this is not just using the name and actually pays respect to the franchise we all know and love .
