Buffy the Vampire Slayer writer/director Joss Whedon was hit with some pretty serious accusations last year. It all started when Justice League star Ray Fisher released a statement claiming that the filmmaker behaved in an unprofessional, abusive manner on set, but the likes of Buffy's Charisma Carpenter and Michelle Trachtenberg soon weighed in with even more damning allegations.

At the time, Buffy Summers herself, Sarah Michelle Gellar, only released a rather vague response offering support to her co-stars and distancing herself from Whedon, but the actress recently painted a slightly more detailed picture of the environment she worked in for so many years.

Without mentioning Whedon by name, the Wolf Pack actress simply said that she was used to being "on a set that I think was known for being an extremely toxic male set, and so that was ingrained in my head that that was what all sets were like."

Those hoping for juicier details will be disappointed, because Gellar has now made it clear that she never intends to elaborate on any specific incidents involving the director.

“I’ve come to a good place with it, where it’s easier to talk about,” Gellar told THR. “I’ll never tell my full story because I don’t get anything out of it. I’ve said all I’m going to say because nobody wins. Everybody loses.”

“I’m not the only person facing this, and I hope the legacy hasn’t changed,” she continued. “I hope that it gives the success back to the people that put in all of the work. I will always be proud of Buffy. I will always be proud of what my castmates did, what I did. Was it an ideal working situation? Absolutely not. But it’s OK to love Buffy for what we created because I think it’s pretty spectacular.”

Some may feel frustrated by Gellar's stance and the fact that she didn't fully back-up her co-stars, but it's easy enough to understand why she would want to put all of this behind her at the same time.
