Production on the next instalment in the iconic Scream franchise is now underway in Montreal, Canada, and the first photos from the set touch on a pretty major plot point.
Though the photos themselves aren't particularly revealing, they do confirm that the slasher sequel will leave Woodsboro behind, with this latest incarnation of masked serial killer Ghostface taking his reign of terror to the Big Apple.
This hasn't sat well with some fans, especially coming after the recent news that Neve Campbell will not be returning as Sidney Prescott - though it's worth noting that Scream 3 was actually set in LA.
Melissa Barrera (Sam), Jasmin Savoy Brown (Mindy), Mason Gooding (Chad), and Jenna Ortega (Tara) will return, with Scream 4's Hayden Panettiere set to reprise the role of Kirby. Dermot Mulroney recently became the latest cast member to sign on. Directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett will also be back behind the camera.
Scream 6 is set to slice its way into theaters on March 31, 2023.
