Halloween in Dead by Daylight just got a lot more demonic. Behaviour Interactive has released the Diablo Collection, bringing Lilith, Mephisto and Belial from Blizzard's gothic horror RPG series into The Entity's realm as new Killer outfits.
The collection arrived yesterday (October 20th), right in the middle of the game's Halloween celebrations. Check out the official trailer below:
Behaviour's trailer description puts it bluntly: "Even in the Burning Hells, nothing escapes The Entity's reach."
The Daughter Of Hatred Gets A Mori
The most horrifying addition is Lilith. The mother of Sanctuary and the villain who kicked off Diablo IV becomes a Visceral outfit for The Artist, and Behaviour went beyond a simple reskin. She has unique menu animations and a vicious new Mori, so Survivors who get caught can expect a fittingly brutal end.
The Artist turns out to be a natural vessel for her. The Killer already deals in crows, ritual and dark imagery, and Behaviour says it kept Lilith's horned silhouette instantly recognizable while sneaking in details for longtime Diablo fans.
She also sounds the part. Caroline Faber, who voices Lilith in Diablo IV, recorded unique voice lines for the outfit.
Two More Lords Of Hell
Lilith is not stalking the trials alone. Mephisto, the Lord of Hatred and one of the three Prime Evils, takes over The Nurse. The pairing makes sense, since both are supernatural horrors that seem to appear out of nowhere. Mephisto most recently served as the central threat in Diablo IV's Vessel of Hatred expansion.
Belial, the Lord of Lies, becomes an outfit for The Dredge. Behaviour describes the result as a six-faced demon of deception, which suits a Killer that already looks like it crawled out of a nightmare. Diablo fans will remember Belial as the shape-shifting deceiver who ruled Caldeum in Diablo III.
Steve Blum voices Mephisto and Ray Porter voices Belial, both returning to their Diablo roles. All three Killer outfits are Visceral or Ascended tier.
Survivors Fight Back As Heroes Of Sanctuary
Survivors get three outfits based on Diablo IV's playable classes. Taurie Cain, who has always had a connection to the occult, communes with the dead as the Necromancer. Zarina Kassir becomes the Sorceress, and David King suits up as the Barbarian.
There is something fitting about a Necromancer sprinting through the dark with Lilith close behind, especially for players who spent hours hunting her down in Diablo IV.
Diablo Has Always Been Horror
Diablo is usually filed under action RPGs, but horror has been part of its DNA since the beginning. The original 1996 game sent players down beneath the cathedral of Tristram, through crypts and catacombs filled with the undead, and eventually into Hell itself. Diablo IV leaned even harder into that tone, with grim villages, blood rituals and a story built around a demon queen rising again.
That makes Dead by Daylight one of the more natural homes for the franchise, even without new gameplay. Lilith and her fellow demons look right at home in The Fog.
A Packed Halloween In The Fog
Behaviour first teased the crossover during Dead by Daylight's 10th Anniversary livestream in June, and it has become the centerpiece of the studio's October lineup. New Blighted outfits for Jason Voorhees, The Houndmaster and The Knight kicked things off at the start of the month, and the Haunted by Daylight event began last week (October 13th).
The timing works for Diablo too. The series is marking 30 years of what Behaviour's trailer calls "soul-shattering horrors," and few games are better suited to celebrate that than one built entirely around being hunted.
The Diablo Collection is available now in the in-game store on PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch.
