The Walking Dead recently wrapped up with its eleventh season, but while the main series is over, the franchise itself is far from dead. More spin-offs are on the way, including shows revolving around characters like Rick Grimes and Michonne, Daryl, and Negan and Maggie.
The latter is titled Dead City, and shooting wrapped up back in October. Now, the six-episode series is set to premiere on AMC sometime next April.
In these stills, we see Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) reunite after a few years apart. While they managed to put their differences aside in The Walking Dead's final episodes, they don't look overly friendly here as Maggie can be seen holding a knife to the reformed villain's throat!
During a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Morgan suggested that Negan's abrasive personality will continue to be an issue even in the Big Apple. "Negan is a bit of a screwup. He's just that guy that you want to smack," he says. "He's a punchable guy, and I understand that, being the guy that says the stuff that comes out of his mouth."
"I want to punch him sometimes," Morgan continues. "Look, we know that he's going to run off to New York City. It's him and Maggie, and there's not a lot of people with him. So, if I do the math on this, he's going to be in trouble. It's going to be a bad combination for him."
Dead City finds Maggie and Negan travelling into a post-apocalyptic Manhattan long ago cut off from the mainland. The crumbling city is filled with the dead and denizens who have made New York City their own world full of anarchy, danger, beauty, and terror.
The cast also includes Gaius Charles as Perlie Armstrong, Željko Ivanek as The Croat, Jonathan Higginbotham as Tommaso, Mahina Napoleon as Ginny, Trey Santiago-Hudson as Jano, and Karine Ortiz as Amaia
Little is known about their roles, but keep checking back here because we'll be keeping you updated.
