AMC fans can't get enough of The Walking Dead. Or perhaps Daryl Dixon, it seems.
The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, the latest chapter in The Walking Dead saga, is now AMC+'s #1 most-viewed premiere, topping The Walking Dead: Dead City, which premiered on the streaming service earlier this year.
AMC+'s latest Walking Dead spin-off is also on track to become the most-viewed season of any show in the streaming platforms' history.
The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon premiered last month on September 10 and it has seemingly only gained traction among fans. The most recent fourth episode delivered season-high ratings on AMC in total viewers (1.1M).
“What a thrill to have this most recent installment in The Walking Dead Universe arrive to set records on AMC+ and deliver steady viewership growth over its first four weeks on AMC,” said Dan McDermott, president of entertainment and AMC Studios for AMC Networks. “Thanks to Norman Reedus for bringing his ‘bad decisions’ to France, to David Zabel, Scott M. Gimple, Clémence Poésy and the rest of the outstanding cast and to the most passionate and committed fans in entertainment. There is so much more and so many great surprises to come for this show and across this expanding universe.”
The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon brings the zombie action to France where we follow Daryl (Normal Reedus) as he attempts to piece together how he got there and why. As he attempts to make his way back home, his journey across a broken but resilient France will lead him to form new connections that complicate his plan.
Normal Reedus is joined by fellow stars Clémence Poésy, Adam Nagaitis, Anne Charrier, Eriq Ebouaney, Laika Blanc Francard, Romain Levi and Louis Puech Scigliuzzi and is executive produced by Scott M. Gimple, Showrunner David Zabel, Reedus, Greg Nicotero, Angela Kang, Brian Bockrath, Jason Richman and Daniel Percival.
There are just two more episodes left in the season with Episode 5, "Deux Amours" set to premiere tonight, October 8. The finale, "Coming Home," is set to air on AMC and AMC+ on October 15.
AMC is bringing a special advanced screening of the season finale to New York Comic Con on Thursday, October 12. Reedus, Zabel, Gimple and Nicotero will also be in attendance for a panel discussion about the series' first and upcoming second seasons
The Walking Dead universe will continue to expand with the next spin-off, The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live, set to premiere next year. The series stars Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurira.
