Season 2 (though we're not actually supposed to be calling it that) of The Sandman is expected to adapt the "Season of Mists" and "Brief Lives" arcs from Neil Gaiman's comic series, and we may now know who has been cast as a fan-favorite character who plays a major role in the latter.
Though this is just a rumor for now, we're hearing that Hanna star Esme Creed Miles will play Dream's little sister, Delirium.
Netflix hasn't confirmed any new cast members yet, but season 2 has been filming for quite a while (not counting a significant strikes hiatus), so an official announcement shouldn't be too far off.
In related news, Death actress Kirby Howell-Baptiste has revealed that her surprisingly chipper take on The Grim Reaper will have a larger presence in the second season.
Howell-Baptiste, who only appeared in one episode of the first season, the superb "The Sound of her Wings," confirmed that Morpheus' big sister will "be in more episodes" of the DC Vertigo adaptation's sophomore run during an interview with Collider.
"Death is a large part of this season and there are some incredible stories with the family that I'm very, very excited for fans to see," Howell-Baptise said while promoting her new movie We Strangers at SXSW. “It's been fantastic going back actually, because this season, I think fans will be very excited for the episodes. It feels like the show is a two-way street, it's not just us putting something out, it's Neil listening, responding to the fans, and then in turn giving them the things that they are asking for, yelling for, begging for. So I think fans are gonna be really excited to have these stories expanded and have the complexities, and the family and, and all of those dynamics, see them even more this season, this continuation of episodes.”

"There is another world that waits for all of us when we close our eyes and sleep — a place called the Dreaming, where The Sandman, Master of Dreams (Tom Sturridge), gives shape to all of our deepest fears and fantasies. But when Dream is unexpectedly captured and held prisoner for a century, his absence sets off a series of events that will change both the dreaming and waking worlds forever. To restore order, Dream must journey across different worlds and timelines to mend the mistakes he’s made during his vast existence, revisiting old friends and foes, and meeting new entities — both cosmic and human — along the way."
The Sandman also stars Tom Sturridge as Dream, Boyd Holbrook as The Corinthian, Donna Preston as Despair, Stephen Fry as Gilbert, Mason Alexander Park as Desire, Charles Dance as black magician Roderick Burgess, and Sanjeeve Bhaskar as Cain. Joely Richardson plays Ethel Cripps, while David Thewlis takes on the role of her son John Dee, aka the deranged Dr. Destiny.
