Showrunner Eric Kripke recently stated that Gen V will be even more depraved than The Boys, and based on what we see here, we're inclined to believe he wasn't exaggerating.
After a few teasing glimpses were shared in Prime Video's "coming soon" previews, the streamer has finally released a full trailer for its upcoming The Boys spin-off, giving fans a much better idea of what to expect.
The promo introduces protagonist Marie Moreau (Jaz Sinclair) and her classmates, as they attempt to adapt to life in the prestigious Godalkin University, which trains young Supes and teaches them to harness/control their abilities.
Unfortunately, the campus seems to be far from the "safe space" it's been sold as.
The trailer censors an F-bomb (and even the word "dick"), but has no problem showing a guy punch through someone's chest and shove his fist up through his mouth. So, be wary of a lot of blood and gore... but at least your ears will be spared a bit of profanity!
Check out the bloody first footage below, and let us know what you think in the comments.
In Gen V, the students at Godolkin will be "put their physical and moral boundaries to the test, competing for the school’s highly coveted top ranking. They quickly come to learn that ambition comes with sacrifice, and the difference between right and wrong is not as clear as they once believed. When the university’s dark secrets come to light, the students must come to grips with what type of heroes they are going to become.”
Gen V also stars Shelley Conn, Maddie Phillips, London Thor, Derek Luh, Asa Germann, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Sean Patrick Thomas and Marco Pigossi. The series guest stars Clancy Brown and Jason Ritter, while Jessie T. Usher, Claudia Doumit, Colby Minifie, and P.J. Byrne will reprise their roles from The Boys.
