STRANGER THINGS Writers Reveal Brutal Alternate Ideas For Character Deaths That Didn't Make It Into The Show

We might have just come out of the fourth, penultimate season of Stranger Things, but the writers have now revealed some interesting new information about the second.

Think back to the cusp of Halloween in October 2017, when Season 2 debuted. We were introduced to new characters, some of which have stuck around until now, like Max, and some that didn't quite make it that far.

For instance, Sean Astin's Bob didn't even make it out of the second season. He was brutally mauled by some demodogs before Joyce's eyes, but it seems that wasn't always his fate.

The writers of Stranger Things, via social media (@StrangerWriters), have revealed an alternate demise for Bob which saw him being killed by none other than Noah Schapp's Will, who was possessed by the Mind Flayer.

That certainly would've been a traumatising development for all involved, especially the young boy. Perhaps that's why they didn't ultimately go with this idea, as Will would have to reckon with his actions from then on.

Additionally, the writers revealed that Millie Bobby Brown's Eleven was going to put her mother out of her misery. If you remember, Terry Ives was made all but catatonic by Matthew Modine's Martin Brenner and the Hawkins Laboratory following their experimentation on her and her daughter to ensure that she wouldn't reveal the truth about what had happened to them. Again, this might have been deemed to be a little too dark.

Who knows what other grim fates the writers had in mind for other characters. We'll be sure to let you know as more alternate ideas are revealed.
