"You never forget your first..."
Following a couple of promo images, Netflix has released a trailer for upcoming vampire drama series First Kill, which is based on a short story by New York Times best-selling author Victoria "V. E." Schwab.
The story focuses on a young vampire who selects a stranger as her first kill, only to end up falling for her intended victim.
The show's synopsis reads: "When it's time for teenage vampire Juliette (Sarah Catherine Hook) to make her first kill so she can take her place among a powerful vampire family, she sets her sights on a new girl in town named Calliope (Imani Lewis). But much to Juliette's surprise, Calliope is a vampire hunter from a family of celebrated slayers. Both find that the other won't be so easy to kill and, unfortunately, way too easy to fall for."
This looks.... not great, to be perfectly honest. We're sure it'll find an audience, but based on this teaser, First Kill would be more suited to The CW.
Check out the trailer and a pair of new posters below.
Schwab is also on board as a writer and executive producer on the series, with Felicia D. Henderson (The Punisher, Gossip Girl) joining her as showrunner, while also executive-producing along with Emma Roberts and Karah Preiss.
First Kill is set to premiere on Netflix on June 10.
