We recently learned that Jason Fuchs and Brad Caleb Kane are set to serve as co-showrunners for the planned HBO Max It prequel series, with the movies' director Andy Muschietti expected to helm at least one episode (likely the premiere).

Now, some more details have been revealed by The Illuminerdi, and it sounds like Welcome To Derry may share more than a few plot points with Stephen King's classic novel.

According to the site, the show will be set in the '60s, and is currently casting a Black male lead in their 30s to play a patriotic Army pilot who is "trying to bring people together in an unlikely time." The production is also searching for a group of young kids, who sound a lot like they'll be a "proto" Losers Club.

Most interestingly - and this lines up with something we've also heard - Bill Skarsgård will reportedly reprise the role of Pennywise the Clown from the films.

We still don't have any official plot details for Welcome To Derry, but the show will almost certainly delve into the demonic creature known as Pennywise's origin - possibly even before he arrived to Earth.
