Actor David Harbour had a bad feeling about what is now one of Netflix's biggest success stories. Apparently, the actor, who plays Jim Hopper in Stranger Things, believed it would flop. Granted, it wasn't just Harbour who felt this way, as his hair person also felt the same.
The actor was so sure the show wasn't going to work that he felt it had no future on the streaming platform, which was already housing some strong series like House of Cards and Orange is the New Black, and wouldn't perform well. Sure enough, though, the series was a hit from the very beginning in 2016
"By the time we finished, we wrapped, I thought we wouldn't get a second season, we'd be the first Netflix show kind of ever to never get a second season. We thought no one would watch it, it was going to be a disaster."
Stranger Things had some stiff competition following up, or in other cases, working alongside other major productions Netflix has spearheaded. Luckily enough, this paid off and the show would skyrocket its episode budget and not only got that second season Harbour was skeptical of, but a whopping four total seasons with the fifth and final season on its way.
The sci-fi horror series was even named Netflix's most watched English language show ever back in June.
