AMC (via Entertainment Weekly) has shared a first look at one of the upcoming The Walking Dead spin-off shows, which will focus on arguably the most popular character from the original series, Daryl Dixon.
In the recent series finale, Daryl rode off to parts unknown on his motorcycle, and while we don't know exactly where he was headed, we do know where he's going to end up.
Thanks to AMC president Dan McDermott, we know that the spin-off will "follow Daryl as he wakes up and finds himself somewhere on the European continent and tries to piece together what happened. How did he get here? How's he going to get home?"
These promo stills feature the title character making his way around France, and it looks like he's run into some trouble.
So, how and why does Dixon wind up in France? That part of the plot remains under wraps, but it's believed to tie-in to what we saw in The Walking Dead: World Beyond finale's mid-credits scene, in which a scientist in an abandoned French lab was shot after watching videos from Dr. Edwin Jenner.
As for Reedus, he describes the series as more of a "reset" than a continuation. "There's history in the story. There's history in the walls around us. There's history in the sound of it all. It's a very different feel. It has the stuff that you want from the show, but it's just picked up and put in a whole other dimension," said the actor.
