Along with the video sneak peek, AMC has also shared a number of photographs from the upcoming show. You can check them out down below!
The new season will have viewers following the character of Daryl Dixon, played by Norman Reedus, as he finds himself washed ashore in France. Daryl sets out on a trek across a devastated but resilient France in the hopes of finding his way back home as he struggles to solve the mystery of how he got there and what his mission was. The relationships that he cultivates along the way only serve to complicate matters.
Clémence Poésy, Adam Nagaitis, Anne Charrier, Eriq Ebouaney, Laika Blanc Francard, Romain Levi, and Louis Puech Scigliuzzi are some of the actors featured in The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon's ensemble cast. Reedus, Greg Nicotero, Angela Kang, Brian Bockrath, and Daniel Percival serve as the show's executive producers alongside Scott M. Gimple and David Zabel, who is also the showrunner.
The sneak peek at just over two minutes and highlights Daryl as he sets out on a perilous journey from the city of Marseille to the capital of France, which is Paris.
It was revealed in the post-credits sequence of the second season of The Walking Dead: World Beyond that the virus that caused the zombie outbreak was manufactured in France by a group known as the Primrose Team. It has been suspected that Daryl's unexplained voyage may be connected to this discovery.
The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon is the fifth spin-off, and the sixth show overall, in the universe of The Walking Dead, which was created by Robert Kirman, Tony Moore, and Charlie Adlard. The first season will be comprised of six episodes, with David Zabel writing the first and co-writing the second episode alongside Jason Richman.
Reedus has hinted that the voyage will be "longer and even harder and weirder than you would think," and he additionally shared that the world of Daryl Dixon has become "bigger, deeper, and just as heavy, if not heavier."
