Wyrmwood: Road of the Dead was a low-budget Australian zombie movie which flew under a lot of radars back when it was released in 2014, but its frantic mix of Mad Max-style carnage, humor, and undead thrills gained it something of a cult following.

Now, a sequel titled Wyrmwood: Apocalypse is set for release on VOD platforms on April 14 before arriving on DVD and Blu-ray on May 17th, and we have a new, splatter-filled U.S. trailer (via Bloody Disgusting) for you guys to take a look at.

This time, the story follows a soldier named Rhys who "lives in the zombie-infested wasteland. His job is to capture civilians and deliver them to what’s left of the military. When Rhys captures a half-zombie-half-human named Grace, he comes to believe she is the key to ending the apocalypse.”

Directed by Kiah Roache-Turner, Wyrmwood: Apocalypse stars Luke McKenzie, Goran D. Kleut, Shantae Barnes-Cowan, Nicholas Boshier, Jay Gallagher and Bianca Bradey, who will return as the the first movie's protagonist, Brooke.

Check out the trailer below along with a new poster, and let us know if you plan on catching this one when it releases next month.
