Following a brief teaser and a theatrical poster, extreme horror director Rob Zombie has debuted the full trailer for his uncharacteristically family-friendly reboot of classic black-and-white TV series, The Munsters.
The fun footage reveals how Lily and Herman met and fell in love, much to the chagrin of Grandpa and the rest of her family. The trailer also features some faces that are sure to be familiar to fans of the '60s show!
Starring Sheri Moon Zombie as Lily, Daniel Roebuck as Grandpa, and Jeff Daniel Phillips As Herman, The Munsters still doesn't have an official release date, but we're sure to find out where and when it'll be with us very soon.
For now, check out the new trailer below along with the recently released poster and let us know what you think.
The Munsters has earned a Parental Guidance rating for "Macabre and suggestive material, scary images and language."
"Yeah, it's 100 percent in the spirit of the show," Zombie said of his decision to go family-friendly for the first time in his career. "I didn't want it to be different. I wanted to totally retain the vibe that it had in the '60s."
The cast also includes Richard Brake as Dr. Henry Augustus Wolfgang, Catherine Schell as Zoya Krupp the gypsy queen, Cassandra "Elvira" Peterson as Barbara Carr, and Jorge as a new character named Floop, who is described as “Dr. Wolfgang’s hunchback assistant and Herman Munster’s best buddy.”
The movie will be released by Universal Home Entertainment, and there's a lot of speculation that it'll be a Peacock exclusive. This has yet to be confirmed, but all episodes of the classic '60s series are currently available to watch on the streaming service.
