Paramount Pictures and Spyglass announced plans for a sixth Scream movie after the impressive box office performance of the recent installment in the iconic horror franchise, and the sequel has now been given an official theaterical release date.

Ghostface will return to stalk the denizens of Woodsboro on March 31, 2023.

Paramount decided to drop the "5" from the title of the fifth movie, so it'll be interesting to see what they come up with for "Scream 6."

Spoilers ahead!

No plot details have been revealed, but we wouldn't be shocked to learn that the story will revolve around a masked killer terrorizing a bunch of pop culture-savvy teens. Ghostface dispatched quite a few victims in the last movie - including legacy fan-favourite Dy Riley (David Arquette) - but Courteney Cox recently confirmed that she will be back as Gale Weathers, and we assume Neve Campbell will join her as Sidney Prescott.
