Deadline is reporting Jack Champion (Avengers: Endgame; Avatar: The Way of Water), Liana Liberato (If I Stay; Light as a Feather), Devyn Nekoda (Ginny & Georgia; Sneakerella) and Josh Segarra (Arrow; She-Hulk: Attorney at Law) have joined the cast of Paramount and Spyglass Entertainment's Scream 6.
The foursome join a star cast featuring returning players Melissa Barrera (Sam Carpenter), Jenna Ortega (Tara Carpenter), Jasmin Savoy Brown (Mindy Meeks-Martin), Mason Gooding (Chad Meeks-Martin), Hayden Panettiere (Kirby Reed).
Dermot Mulroney (My Best Friend's Wedding; The Family Stone) joined the cast earlier this month, and is set to play a cop.
Filming is expected to begin later this summer, with Radio Silence (Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett) back in the director's chair, utilizing a screenplay from writers James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick.
Neve Campbell (Sidney Prescott) recently announced that she will not be back for the next installment, which likely means we can also rule out fellow legacy cast member Courteney Cox (Gale Weathers).
While plot details are under heavy lock-and-key, the next film will not take place in Woodsboro, but in New York instead, and an early synopsis says the film, “continues with the four survivors of the Ghostface killings as they leave Woodsboro behind and start a fresh chapter.” However, of course, unfortunately for them, Ghostface will be right on their tails.
Scream (2022) was one of this year's biggest box office smashes, grossing over $140 million worldwide on an estimated $24 million production budget, and successfully reviving the classic horror franchise after a decade-long hiatus.
Scream 6 is set to hit theaters on March 31, 2023.
