SAW 10 Will Reportedly See The Return Of Shawnee Smith's Amanda Young... Who Was Killed-Off In SAW III

Even though Jigsaw's assistant Amanda Young was killed-off in Saw III, it's being reported that actress Shawnee Smith is set to reprise the role for the upcoming tenth installment in the horror franchise.

Tobin Bell is set to return as serial killer John “Jigsaw” Kramer for Saw 10, and it seems he won't be the only deceased character to be "resurrected" for the upcoming horror flick.

According to Deadline, several new cast members have joined the production, including Shawnee Smith, who will reprise the role of Amanda Young.

For those unfamiliar with the Saw franchise, Young was introduced in the original film as one of Kramer's victim, before eventually being revealed as the murderer's twisted apprentice. She was killed-off in Saw III.

Synnøve Macody Lund (Ragnarok), Steven Brand (The Sandman) and Michael Beach (Dahmer) have also joined the cast in undisclosed roles.

How Jigsaw and Amanda are brought back remains to been, but short of this franchise going down a supernatural route, we assume it'll either be via flashback or the story will take place earlier in the timeline.

Kevin Greutert, who directed Saw VI and Saw: The Final Chapter, and edited Saw I through V and Jigsaw, is on board to helm the new movie, which is set to hit theaters on October 27, 2023.
