PROTOTYPE Director Jack Peter Mundy Discusses The Differences Between The Murderous AI (Exclusive)

Jack Peter Mundy is known for horror flicks, with half a dozen more on the way, which is why it comes as no surprise that his new Sci-Fi film Prototype doubles as a fearsome thriller with slasher vibes.

Due to the likes of films such as Blade Runner, Bicentennial Man, Robocop, Tron, Westworld, I, Robot, Ex Machina, and too many others to name, the sci-fi subgenre of artificial intelligence is of interest to a wide range of people. In addition, there are hardcore fans of robots and mech for steady doses.

Because of this, there are many movies inspired by an exponential growth in the output of artificial intelligence science fiction, and next week, one such project releases on digital. Prototype is a film from director Jack Peter Mundy who generally handles horror, so his chracter-driven malfunctioning A.I. story also contains significant slasher elements.

We were lucky enough to speak with Jack about the future this A.I. story is set in, as well as the backgrounds for both actors playing A.I. members One and Two. Of course, we also asked about a possible future for the murdering robot, as well as the prosthetics and dubbed dialogue.

Do you think you'll be taking a peek at Prototype, or is it not your blend of sci-fi? Be sure to check out our interview with Jack Peter Mundy below and let us know your thoughts in the comments!

Chatting across the pond, Jack Peter Mundy and I were able to take some time to discuss his newest science fiction film titled Prototype.

Jack is involved in a number of projects that are releasing this year but the first film coming from the director, producer, and cinematographer is Prototype. The film is in the vein of Terminator and focuses on a small family that winds up trapped by two human-based AI. Because they're the prototypes the family becomes endangered and then the film gets bloody.

Discussing the prosthetics and choreography from the actors behind the flick Jack shared a lot about both of the AI actors as well as the young child and their gender role in the film as they were initially born male. We also spoke briefly about Jack's other projects that will be released this year such as Ghost Flight and other horror flicks as well.

Prototype lands on digital on April 5th.
