Fresh from his Best Animated Feature Oscar win for Netflix's Pinocchio, Guillermo del Toro has set his next project from the streamer: a live-action adaptation of horror classic, Frankenstein.

The movie is only in the very early stages of development, but already has an all-star cast lined up. According to Deadline, Oscar Isaac, Andrew Garfield, and Mia Goth are in early talks to play the lead roles.

It's assumed that Isaac and Garfield would play the eponymous doctor and the Monster (though we have no idea which actor would portray which character), while Goth is believed to be in negotiations to play Victor Frankenstein's love-interest, Elizabeth.

Del Toro will write and direct the film.

First published in 1818, Mary Shelley's Frankenstein; or, The Modern Prometheus has been adapted numerous times for the stage and screen, but there have been very few fully faithful takes on the story (the creature's appearance in the novel, for example, has never been accurately depicted).

No word on when production is expected to get underway, but we'll be sure to update as more information becomes available.
