The Exorcist made a mark on the horror genre with its possession-centered storyline. Since then, there have been countless movies of the like that followed in the footsteps of the horror juggernaut, which can be attributed to the amazing vision of the recently passed director, William Friedkin.
A few examples of movies that followed the blueprint of Friedkin's classic are The Devil Inside, The Possession, Constantine, [Rec]2, Luz, The Devils Candy, with plenty of others joining them in the ranks. Now, fans of horror possession films have a new one to look forward to - Night of the Caregiver.
The film is touted as "The Exorcist combined with the terrifying elements of a Dario Argento film" by director Joe Cornet. The movie doesn't just follow in the footsteps of The Exorcist, it also stars one of the actresses from the film in the form of Eileen Dietz. She stars alongside Eric Roberts (The Dark Knight) and Denise Sperl (Mank).
Beyond the cast and director, Night of the Caregiver is written by Craig Hamann (Boogie Boy) and produced by Alexander Nevsky (Black Rose). ITN Studios will be handling the film's distribution, as they have just acquired the North American rights.
