Day two of Netflix's Geeked Week virtual event gave us a fresh look at Henry Selick's stop-motion feature Wendell & Wild. The film, which is described as equal parts terrifying and cuddly, follows two scheming demon brothers, Wendell and Wild (Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele), who ditch the Underworld for the Land of the Livnig.
In order to escape the Underworld, they enlist the help of a young teen named Kat Elliott, a tough teen with a load of guilt (Lyric Ross). Today's clip features Kat as she sneaks -- and slides -- around school after hours in what appears to be an attempt to help jail break a demonic teddy bear, Bearzabub, trapped in a teacher's desk.
The official synopsis describes Wendell & Wild as "a brilliantly bizarre and comedic adventure like no other, an animated fantasy that defies the law of life and death, all told through the handmade artistry of stop motion."
The film is directed by Henry Selick, his first since he helmed 2009's Coraline. Selick co-wrote the script, which is based on an unpublished book by Selick and Clay McLeod Chapman, alongside Jordan Peele who also serves as producer through his Monkeypaw Productoins. Wendell & Wild is set to debut on Netflix this October.
