Warner Bros. has debuted the first trailer for The Meg sequel, The Trench, and if you were a fan of the first movie, it's safe to say you're going to be hyped after checking out this insane footage!

The teaser begins back in prehistoric times, and we get to see just how lethal the Megalodon is when it leaps out of the water to chow down on a t-rex!

We then jump to modern day, as rescue diver/prehistoric fish killer Jonas Taylor (Jason Statham) is called in to deal with more strange occurrences deep beneath the waves, as three megs - and several other giant creatures, from the looks of things - escape the trench.

Sienna Guillory (Clifford the Big Red Dog), Skyler Samuels (The Gifted), and Sergio Peris-Mencheta (Snowfall) recently joined the cast in supporting roles. Peris-Mencheta will play the villain, "a hard-edged mercenary," Guillory is the head of an applied sciences division, while Samuels is "an adventure-loving member of the submarine crew."

Surviving Mana One crew members Cliff Curtis, Sophia Cai and Page Kennedy will also return.

The first movie's writing team (yes, it was a group effort) of Jon and Erich Hoeber and Dean Georgaris penned the script. Ben Wheatley, who is best known for disturbing/surreal movies such as Kill List and High Rise, is directing.

It's quite the departure for the filmmaker, although he did take a step closer to more mainstream fare with action flick Free Fire, and signed on to helm the sequel to 2018's Tomb Raider reboot last year before parting ways with the project.
