Halloween Kills proved to be a divisive entry in David Gordon Green's series of sequels to John Carpenter's classic, but Michael Myers fans are hoping the upcoming Halloween Ends will bring the trilogy (and, most likely, the franchise) to a close in a satisfying way.
Green has been shooting Ends since before the last movie hit theaters, and star Jamie Lee Curtis has now taken to Instagram to announce that production has wrapped. The iconic "final girl" also shared some behind-the-scenes photos of her cast mates.
“A bittersweet END for me on the Halloween movies," the actress captioned her post. "I’ve made great friends and have collaborated with wonderful artists on these three movies and today my part in the film has been completed and with it the END for me of this trilogy. It’s all because of the fans who have always supported me and more importantly, Laurie.”
“Here are a few images that will remind me of the wonderful time we all had. I love this crew and cast and I will miss you all,”
We don't know if Laurie Strode will survive her final encounter with "The Shape," but if she does go down, our guess is she'll take her seemingly unstoppable nemesis with her!
Kills (you can check out our 3-star review here) was basically a showcase for Myers' relentless appetite for destruction, but Green revealed that Ends is going to take the story in a very different direction altogether during a recent interview with Empire.
“It’s kind of a coming-of-age film, and it’s a very different tone,” said the director. “That’s what excited me about it, is to have the three chapters that I’ve been involved in be very different from each other. They are all there to honor Carpenter, but aren’t necessary just emulating him.”
