Even the movie's staunchest defenders would have to admit that Halloween Kills proved to be a divisive entry in David Gordon Green's series of sequels to John Carpenter's classic, but Michael Myers fans are hoping the upcoming Halloween Ends will bring the trilogy (and, most likely, the franchise) to a close in a satisfying manner.
Green has already stated that Ends won't play out the way people are expecting, and the original actor to wear the iconic mask of "The Shape" has now hinted at a shocking conclusion nobody "would have ever guessed."
While speaking on a panel at Pittsburgh's Steel City Con, Nick Castle - who shares the role of Myers with James Jude Courtney in the new trilogy - said he believes there could well be more movies after Halloween Ends, but feels the upcoming horror flick will still deliver "an ending for everyone."
"I think there might be more because of all the success of [this trilogy], but [Green] will have a very surprising storyline, an ending for everyone. It's absolutely something I don't think you would have ever guessed in terms of the way it's going to unroll."
After the events of Kills, the prevailing theory is that Laurie will finally manage to take Myers down for good at the expense of her own life, but Castle's comments would seem to suggest that things won't play out quite so predictably.
How do you think Halloween Ends will wrap-up this trilogy?
