Ghostbusters: Afterlife was released last year to widespread acclaim, serving as the return to form for the franchise fans were hoping for. The movie tells the story of a single mom and her two kids who arrive in a small town, discovering their unexpected connection to the original Ghostbusters in the process (you can check out our 4* review over on ComicBookMovie.com by clicking here).
MPC Film has now shared some exclusive concept art from the movie featuring their take on the transformation of Gozer, the malignant entity from another dimension, as she shifts into Gozer Spirit.
MPC Film VFX Supervisor Pier Lefebvre, DFX Supervisor Sebastien Raets, and VFX Producer Sarah Moussaif worked alongside Production VFX Supervisor Alessandro Ongaro to deliver director Jason Reitman’s vision for Ghostbusters: Afterlife, and the team created several pieces of key art for the city chase scene with the Ecto-1 and Muncher, as well as the designs for the new proton trap and its effect on the ghosts. They also worked on the mini Stay-Puft marshmallows that cause chaos in Walmart.
Gozer has become an iconic part of the Ghostbusters franchise, and a combination of Emma Portner and Olivia Wilde were used in Afterlife in order to bring the villain back to "life" on the big screen.
