With the first day of fall coming up this week (September 22nd), we're officially entering spooky season. October 1st will kick off Freeform's annual "31 Nights of Halloween," a month-long slate of ghoulish delight.
Every evening throughout the month of October, Freeform will broadcast all your favorite Halloween hits. From beloved classics like Edward Scissorhands and Beetlejuice to modern day favorites like Haunted Mansion (2023), there's something for everyone.
Freeform's "31 Nights of Halloween" schedule for 2025 doesn't feature any new broadcast premieres, but there's still plenty of double features to sink your teeth in, including Hocus Pocus/Hocus Pocus 2, Twitches/Twitches Too, and Halloweentown/Halloweentown II: Kalabar's Revenge. On October 13th, Freeform will celebrate Tim Burton Day, featuring an all-day marathon of the director's classic movies such as Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, Sleepy Hollow, Beetlejuice, Edward Scissorhands, and Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas.
Although Freeform isn't strictly "family friendly," there are some movies for younger ones to enjoy. The broadcast schedule includes quite a few Disney animated favorites like Aladdin, Encanto, The Incredibles and Incredibles 2, 101 Dalmations, Monsters, Inc. and more. I'm not entirely sure how these movies fit into the "Halloween" theme, but I guess Cruella is pretty scary.
Below is a quick look at Freeform's 2025 "31 Nights of Halloween" lineup, but you can view the full broadcast schedule here.
It's worth nothing that many of the movies being broadcast on Freeform can also be found on various streaming services. Disney+, in particular, is home to many of these Halloween favorites, including Hocus Pocus and Hocus Pocus 2, Halloweentown, Edward Scissorhands, The Nightmare Before Christmas, and many more classics and modern hits.
If you're looking for something a bit more mature, Hulu is home to more adult-centric horror thrillers. Hulu subscribers will find more recent horror favorites like The Monkey, Longlegs, Cuckoo, Immaculate, Evil Dead Rise, Scream, and more. You could even throw the new Alien: Earth series on if you're looking for some horror sci-fi.
And don't forget, other streaming services like HBO and Paramount+ are also home to some pretty scary films too. On HBO, you can find the 1973 classic The Exorcist and well as the 2015 film The Witch. On Paramount+, you'll find the blockbuster franchise A Quiet Place, as well as the iconic slasher franchise Scream.
