Blumhouse and Universal Pictures are remaking the well-received 2022 Danish horror film, Speak No Evil (Gæsterne) and have added Alix West (Riverdale) to the cast.
West joins an ensemble that already includes James McAvoy (X-Men: Apocalypse, Glass), Mackenzie Davis (Terminator: Dark Fate, Blade Runner 2049), and Scoot McNairy (Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Blonde).
The remake will be written and directed by James Watkins (Bastille Day, The Woman in Black).
Gæsterne has a 84% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 90 reviews, with an average rating of 7.5/10. It was released in selected U.S. theaters on September 9, 2022 before hitting digital onDemand on September 15, 2022.
The film was also praised for its acting, particularly the performances of Morten Burian and Sidse Babett Knudsen. Burian was nominated for a Bodil Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role, and Knudsen was nominated for a Robert Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role.
