A new teaser for Tim Burton's Beetlejuice Beetlejuice screened last during Warner Bros.' CinemaCon presentation, and while it wasn't (and likely won't be) released online, you'll find a breakdown of what was shown below.

It sounds like the promo package was basically a re-cut version of the officially-released teaser trailer with quite a bit of new footage, including a longer scene of Winona Ryder's returning Lydia Deetz inadvertently summoning Michael Keaton's mischievous bio-exorcist when she attempts to contact her recently deceased father.

“The living. The dead. Can they co-exist?” ponders Lydia. “That’s what we’re here to find out.”

There's also another fun moment with the Ghost with the Most himself, as Keaton's demon encounters a terrified Winter River resident who can't believe his own eyes: "Do I look like a figment of your imagination?"

Burton, Keaton, and Catherine O’Hara - who will also return as Lydia's mother - were on hand to discuss the sequel.

“It’s really [frick]ing good,” the Batman star enthused. “I was very nervous to see if we could pull this off again, but every day just got better. This cast is so good,” he added. “Everyone is so friggin’ funny.”

Many years ago, the idea for a sequel that would have relocated the story to Hawaii was tossed around, but nothing ever came of it.

“Over the years we would kind of kick the notion of it around,” Keaton said of the "Beetlejuice goes Tropical" storyline. "[But] when we joined forces, we tried to have everything done as close to the way we made it the first time.”

Check out the recent teaser below, and keep an eye on FearHQ.com just in case that CinemaCon footage finds its way online.

"After an unexpected family tragedy, three generations of the Deetz family return to the small Vermont town of Winter River. Paranormal empath, Lydia Deetz, begins to see the lecherous demon Beetlejuice, who haunted her as a teenager. His plans to finally marry Lydia are given extra urgency when his dead wife comes to life and begins to stalk the Afterlife hunting for him. Meanwhile, Lydia’s teenage daughter embarks on a romance with a local teen."

New cast members include Jenna Ortega as Lydia's daughter, Astrid, Monica Bellucci as Betelgeuse's wife, Willem Dafoe as an afterlife cop, and Justin Theroux in an undisclosed role.

Wednesday creators Alfred Gough and Miles Millar penned the script.

Beetlejuice 2 is set to release in theaters on Sept. 6, 2024.
