We've been hearing about a possible sequel to Tim Burton's classic horror comedy for many years, and Warner Bros. recently confirmed that Beetlejuice 2 had been given the greenlight.
Now, the movie has set a release date.
According to Deadline, Burton is officially on board to helm, with Michael Keaton set to reprise his role as the titular Bio-Exorcist, and Winona Ryder back to foil his supernatural schemes as Lydia Deetz. Scream and Wednesday star Jenna Ortega will play Lydia's daughter, while Justin Theroux has also joined the cast in an undisclosed role.
Wednesday creators Alfred Gough and Miles Millar are currently working on the script.
The movie will hit theaters on Sept. 6, 2024.
While some will no doubt be overjoyed at the prospect of the whole gang getting back together for another Bettlejuice movie, some feel too much time has passed and they should let this particular ghost with the most rest in peace.
