We recently learned that Pig director Michael Sarnoski would take the helm of the next instalment in the A Quiet Place franchise, and the prequel film has now found its lead.
According to Deadline, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever star Lupita Nyong'o is in final talks to board A Quiet Place: Day One, though no details on her character were provided.
The movie will, presumably, recount the alien creatures' initial arrival on Earth and decimation of the populace. We saw how this played out for the Abbot family at the start of Part II, so there's a good chance Day One will focus on an entirely new set of characters.
A direct follow-up, A Quiet Place: Part III, is also in development, with John Krasinski set to return as director. Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds, Noah Jupe and Cillian Murphy are expected to reprise their roles.
Part II was the first post-pandemic theatrical-only release, and ended up taking in over $297 million at the worldwide box office. The movie also garnered rave reviews (you can check out ours here), and sits at 91% on Rotten Tomatoes.
