You've heard of Tales from the Crypt. Well, now, legendary rapper and entrepreneur Snoop Dogg is about to take you into his world of horror with an upcoming graphic novel, Tales from the Crip.
Snoop Dogg is teaming up with Eisner Award nominated graphic novel creator and award-winning television writer-producer Rodney Barnes for the comic, which is being released under Barnes' Zombie Love Studios (ZLOS) in partnership with Snoopadelic Films.
In a press release for the upcoming comic book, Tales from the Crip is described as a "horror anthology series in the tradition of the classic EC comics of old." The graphic novel will feature "urban themed stories introduced by the legendary rapper and penned by Barnes."
Tales from the Crip joins a growing catalogue of graphic novels from ZLOS which includes the popular Eisner-nominated Killadelphia created by Barnes and artist Jason Shawn. It's set to debut this Fall.
This isn't Snoop Dogg's first foray into the world of horror. He starred in Ernest Dickerson's 2001 horror movie Bones, and is set to appear alongside Jamie Foxx in Netflix's upcoming vampire movie Day Shift. Meanwhile, Barnes has also illustrated the upcoming graphic novel Blacula, which is set to debut in September.
